Fast, healthy, and modifiably vegan.

Last night I was fixing to board the tube to leave London and in an act of desperation to eat, I popped my head into Leon’s. Their slogan “Naturally fast food” caught my attention and a quick glance at the menu showed I was in good hands. The menu, a colorful booklet, includes a legend used to identify food that is dairy free, low carb/good sugars, no or low animal fat, vegetarian, wheat free, dairy/lactose free, and gluten free. The “Roasted Sweet Potato Falafel” sounded fabulous and as it was already vegetarian they gladly held the aioli. Two minutes later they handed me my take away items. The falafel included pita bread, 4 sweet potato patties, and basmati rice.

Words cannot describe how remarkable the food was. Leon’s appears to be a bit of a chain around London and If I had some investment capital I would open my own Leon shop in Portland and it would undoubtedly be a hit.

The Euro Vegan Eats at Eat Two & Veg

the lowdown: Eat Two & Veg : 50 Marylebone High Street, London W1U 5HN : 020 7258 8595 : Website : Entrees £5.50 - £9.95 : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

All vegetarian with vegan options AND some excellent non-alcoholic bevys!

After spending much of my UK trip in small medival towns, I finally made it to London and jumped at the chance to hit up an all veg shop. I did a quick google search and found Eat Two & Veg on a vegetarian forum that was reviewed as suitable for non-veg mates.

Eat Two & Veg is located in Marylebone neighborhood of London, much like NY’s West Village. I ordered the Thai Green Curry and compared to the food I have been eating all week, it was fabulous. Tofu, mushrooms, and broccili were swimming in the herb laced curry which was served with brown rice and peas. The curry could have been a bit more spicy but I ate the whole thing down nonetheless. I topped my already brimming stomach with the autumn crisp with custard and it was fabulous! I couldn’t finish the gigantic portion so I plan to finish it right after I publish this review.
