Great Britian - Where it all started
on October 2nd, 2007the lowdown: Welchpool, Shrewsbury, Stratford-on-Avon, Whitchurch, London - United Kingdom
Of the places I visited during my stay, London was by far the most vegan food friendly. However, I didn’t starve anywhere (except on the plane).
My maternal grandmother is from Whitchurch, England and frequently visits with my mother and aunts. This year I tagged along and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only did I get to experience where my family tree took root, I learned a great deal about British history, and British culture. I love everything about my home in Portland but it was incredibly difficult to return.
The duration of our trip was based in Shrewsbury, in a 600 year old medieval cottage. My first night was the most frustrating because I didn’t seem as though I would find anything suitable to eat, however, after that, it was a breeze with the help of the following spots:
Shuvecha - 82 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury SY1 IUT - 01743 340560 - Indian cuisine
